The Tech Pack

Numbers, Because That Is What You Asked For

Nobody scouts a location off adjectives. Here is what has been measured. Anything not listed has not been verified yet, and you will get it from the events team rather than as a guess on a web page.

The full tech pack comes from the events team.

Floor area, ceiling height, load-in door dimensions, available amperage, blackout, natural light, rigging, truck parking and internet — send your dates and requirements and you will get the measured figures for the spaces you need.

They are not printed here because none of them have been verified, and a gaffer who plans around a number a website guessed at loses the day. A blank is honest; a wrong figure is expensive.

Why Here

A Working Venue, on the Days It Is Not Working

This is a restaurant, a bar and an event space. Midweek daytime it is none of those, which is exactly when a production wants it — empty, quiet, and considerably cheaper than a Saturday.

Several Looks, One Address

Dining room, bar, lounge and exterior in one location. Fewer company moves, which on a tight schedule is worth more than any single space.

Weekday Rates

Booked when the building would otherwise be empty. Ask about a half day — for stills and small units it is usually all you need.

A Kitchen On Site

Preva Kitchen can feed the unit, so lunch does not cost you an hour and a driver. Say so with the inquiry and it gets timed to your schedule.

Brands on Camera

A venue is full of logos. What can be moved or covered is a conversation to have in prep, and the clearances are yours — but nobody should discover that in the edit.

The Spaces

What Is Here to Shoot

Worth scouting in person. Bring a meter and whatever lens you are worried about.

Main room available as a shooting location at PREVA

The Main Room

The biggest floor and the most height. Dimensions and what can be rigged above it are confirmed against your plan rather than described.

Bar and lounge available as a shooting location at PREVA

Bar & Lounge

A practical bar with real stock behind it, plus booth seating. Raise brand clearance early if the bottles are going to be in shot.

Exterior, entrance and patio at PREVA in Redford, Michigan

Exterior & Patio

Entrance, patio and lot — arrivals, exteriors, and where the truck goes. Off I-96 and Telegraph with parking on site.

Questions

Before You Scout

Can I get a tech pack?
Yes. Whatever has been measured is on this page, and the events team will send the rest for your dates. If a number is not shown here it is because nobody has verified it yet, and a guessed figure is worse than a blank one when your gaffer is planning off it.
Available amperage and where the distro points sit are confirmed with the events team before you book. Send your load and anything heavy on it, and you will get a real answer or a straight "bring a genny" rather than an optimistic one.
Half-day and full-day rates are quoted for your dates, along with what counts as a day in hours and what happens if you run over. Ask about overtime in the first email — shoots run long, and you want that agreed rather than negotiated at 9pm.
Worth raising in prep. A venue is full of brands — bottles, signage, glassware — and putting them on camera is a clearance question rather than a preference, with extra restrictions on alcohol in commercial work. The events team will tell you what can be moved or covered; the clearance itself is yours.
A certificate of insurance is confirmed with the events team before the shoot, including who it needs to name. Every established production carries one, so this is usually a formality — but start it early rather than the week of.
Weekday daytime, comfortably. That is when a production wants the space and when the building is least busy, so it is both cheaper and easier to get than an evening or a weekend.
Yes, and you should. Bring a meter, a tape and whatever lens you are worried about. Ten minutes on site answers more than any document, and the events team would rather you came than guessed.

Scout It Before You Schedule It

Send your dates and requirements and the events team will send the tech pack and arrange a scout. You will get numbers back either way.
