Ours, or Yours
Come to one we are running, or take a midweek date and run your own. Either way the useful thing to know first is that most of a theme is lighting and sound, and both are already in the building.

Pick which on the form and the rest is short. If you are running your own, midweek is the honest answer for dates — Friday and Saturday are the venue's own club nights.

Run Your Own
A Theme Is Mostly Light and Sound
Draping and props are the visible part, and the cheap part. What actually makes a room feel like somewhere else is how it is lit and what it sounds like — which is convenient, because those are the two things that are already here and the two things you would otherwise be hiring.
The Room Changes Colour
Most of the transformation happens before a single prop arrives. Tell the events team what you want it to feel like rather than what you want hung on the wall.
Bring Your Own DJ
Yours or the venue's, subject to load-in times and approval. Send what you are bringing and what it plugs into gets confirmed in advance.
Midweek Is the Real Answer
Friday and Saturday are club nights here. A Wednesday or Thursday is easier to get, cheaper, and nobody is waiting to set up after you.
Decor Is Yours to Bring
Draping, props and dressing come in with you or through a vendor. Load-in and strike times are agreed when you book rather than on the night.
The Room
What You Are Working With
Worth seeing after dark rather than in a photograph taken at noon.
The Floor
Where the theme mostly happens. What the house lighting can do is walked through with the events team against what you have in mind.
Tables & Sections
Reserved seating, and somewhere for a group to base themselves. On a themed night this is usually where the photographs get taken.
Full and Lit
Judge it the way your guests will — whether it looks like somewhere worth dressing up for.
